The Standard Business Card Size

Standard Business Card Dimensions and the answer to "How big is a business card?"

What is the standard business card size?

The commonly adopted standard for business card size is 3.5 inches by 2 inches. That is the size of a card after all processes such as printing, coating and cutting. Some printers, like us, have a bleed space that is required. Bleed space basically protects your important content from getting cut away by keeping it within the safe zone. Dimension refers to the orientation of the card. The most common business card dimensions are 3.5 inches by 2 inches, also called a horizontal layout. For the standard business card size of 3.5 inches by 2 inches, 3.5 inches is the width and 2 inches is the height of the card. A less common but still more frequently seen dimension is the alternate orientation for the most popular business card size. This is also called the vertical layout which has a width of 2 inches and a height of 3.5 inches.
